Radical Presence :: A Meditation Technologies Lab Series

  • New Love City 68 Greenpoint Avenue #4 Brooklyn, NY, 11222 United States (map)

We are so honored to be welcoming Ralph de la Rosa for a 4-week residency in January 2018. Ralph De La Rosa is the author of The Monkey is the Messenger: Meditation and What Your Busy Mind is Trying to Tell You (Shambhala, 2018). He is a psychotherapist and life coach who began practicing meditation in 1996 and has been teaching since 2008. He is a trauma, addiction, and depression survivor who now lives happily in Greenpoint with Emma Goldman and Henry, his two cats. He's also a real cool dude and friend of the studio and we have some matching tattoos. Workshop content below, click HERE to reserve your spot. Buy the full series for a discounted rate or you can purchase single sessions as well.

The stress and hustle of our lives too often force us to disconnect from our bodies, shut down our emotions, forsake our connection to nature and betray our deeper intentions and values. And then we wonder why we’re anxious. Or why our relationships aren’t working. Or why we can’t focus. Or sleep at night. Or figure out what we’re really meant to do with our lives.

When we turn around to reclaim that connection, something almost magical happens: we discover our innate ability to let go, to achieve true rest, and navigate our lives in profound, new ways. We reclaim our deeper nature.

Shamatha (mindfulness) meditation is the most widely practiced and scientifically studied form of meditation. This will be a four week exploration into the deeper, yet accessible aspects of shamatha meditation. Together, we will find a home in our bodies and an ability to restore and rewire our nervous systems. We will discover that the inner quietude and wakefulness we desire from meditation (that many come to believe is impossible for them) are attainable when we practice from a holistic perspective.

Please bring pen and paper. Please come prepared to meditate lying down. All workshops recorded in case you miss a class, so you will have our guided meditations to use at home.

Beginners to meditation welcome.

Those who have previously found meditation to not work for them are encouraged.

Those struggling with mental and behavioral health issues also encouraged. This will be a safe(r), trauma sensitive space.
