SONIC EXPLORATION :: with John Thayer

Friday evening, June 29, we are hosting my friend John Thayer of Drunken Sufis for a sound-bath-esque evening of ambient music and droning vibration and general sweet spacey-ness. We're going to lay on the floor and listen to and FEEL some music and it sounds weirder than it is, or maybe it sounds as weird as it is but either way I think you'll enjoy. 8:30 - 10pm, $10 suggested donation, no sign-up necessary. Bring your friends.

WILD WOMEN's Medicine Circle

Hosted by Leslie Cook, The Wild Women’s Medicine Circle is a reclaiming of our tribal roots, holding space to restore the feminine spirit in a way that can only be done when we come together to sit, listen, and share. When we lived in tribes and villages it was easy to take up our circles and heal. But in today’s modern society this kind of soul-medicine is not easily found. As dynamic, creative, soaring women living in New York, our lives are busy and often challenging, leaving self-care and social time with women at the bottom of the priority list. By giving way to our hopes and fears, laughs and tears we can strip away anxieties, judgments and the stress that we are constantly battling. Feeling a part of the tribe, particularly of women, is one of the most nourishing things we can do for ourselves. So come take a seat, meet some wild, untamable women and shine.

DRUNKEN SUFIS :: HOLIDAY SHINDIG

 We are having a holiday get-down this Friday, Dec 2, doors at 8, live music at 9, so don't try to be cute and fashionably late because we will not wait for you. There will be pizza and dranks and you are invited and so is your friend. My long-lost twin brother Tommy is in a band called the Drunken Sufis and they have agreed to bless us with a live version of their ambient offering, which is going to be experimental and awesome. The Sufis are accepting cash donations in support of Nodapl Water Protectors, because that seems like the right thing to do. Here's a facebook event page if you need that sort of thing. Put it in your calendar immediately and let me know if you're bringing like 35 people so I can adjust the pizza order accordingly.
