FAQ

Do I need a visa?

No! U.S. citizens must have a valid U.S. passport to enter Dominica. No visa is required for stays less than 6 months if you have an onward or return ticket, confirmation of accommodation, and can produce evidence of your ability to maintain yourself.

Do I need to get any specific shots?

Nope!

What is the exchange rate? And can I use my credit or debit card?

It’s easiest to use Dominican pesos when out shopping or eating. There are a few ATMs you can use to withdraw money, easiest to do this at the airport on arrival or currency exchange on the departure side. Find current exchange rate here.

Is the water safe to drink?

Yes! The water comes from the mountains and is safe to drink right out of the tap.

What’s the temperature usually during the day...does it drop at night?  Is it rainy?

During October daytime temperatures on Dominica are around 85° F. At night, the temperature can fall to 75° F. It’s likely we’ll get a quick rain shower each day.

How do you get around the island?

From Sea Cliff there are a few beaches you can hike to, however for our excursions or any day trips we will have transport provided.

Are there vegetarian food options?

Yes! A typical meal will include fresh homemade bread, local veggies, fresh eggs, rice, fish and loads of tropical fruits. We are happy to cater to any dietary restrictions.
